Harsh Gujral Deletes The Escape Room Episodes Amid India’s Got Latent Controversy

The ripple effects of the India’s Got Latent controversy continue to spread across the comedy landscape.

After Samay Raina removed all episodes of his show following backlash over a controversial remark, comedian Harsh Gujral has now taken a similar step by deleting all videos of his comedy show The Escape Room from YouTube.

Harsh’s show, which premiered in December 2024, featured edgy humor and a confession box segment where guests shared surprising personal secrets. However, despite releasing only two episodes, both have now been removed from his channel. Additionally, The Escape Room’s Instagram account has been set to private, though it still retains over 34,000 followers.

This move follows the heated response to a comment made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, during a recent episode of India’s Got Latent. Ranveer’s inappropriate question to a contestant led to widespread backlash and legal action against him, Samay Raina, comedian Apoorva Mukhija, and the show’s organizers.

While Samay addressed the controversy indirectly during a stand-up performance in Edmonton, Canada—quipping, “Maybe my time is bad right now, but remember, my friends—I am time itself”—Harsh has yet to break his silence on why he pulled down his show.

As discussions around the limits of comedy and audience reception intensify, it remains to be seen whether more comedians will reassess their content in response to the ongoing debate
