CANNES LIONS 2021: INDIA WINNING BIG

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, held in the third week of June, is the largest event for all professionals in creative fields such as communications, marketing, etc. With many recognized and globally celebrated agencies joining the list of nominations for the Lions, the festival becomes one of the most prestigious for any creative professional. This year was no different and saw major Indian agencies winning big with Lions. Here’s a rundown of all the Lions the Indian agencies won this year:

The first day at Cannes Lion saw the agencies winning big at the categories under ‘Health & Wellness’ and ‘Outdoor.’ FCB won Gold and Silver Lions with the campaign “The Punishing Signal (for Mumbai Police) under the category of Health & Wellness. The campaign also won a Silver Lion under the ‘Outdoor’ category.

Geometry Encompass and Lowe Lintas won the Bronze Lion for their campaign for Hindustan Unilever and Lifebuoy respectively under the category of Health & Wellness.

On the second day, DDB Mudra and Ogilvy won the Gold and Silver Lion respectively under the Creative Strategy category. DDB Mudra for Stayfree’s Project Free Period and Ogilvy for Dove’s #StopTheBeautyTest. Dentsu Webchutney also won the Silver Lion under the Creative Strategy category for Vice’s The 8 Bit Journo campaign which proceeded to win the Silver Lion under the Direct Media category.

Lowe Lintas won the Bronze Lion for Lifebuoy’s H For Handwash campaign under the Media category and FCB won Silver for Mumbai Police’s The Punishing Signal under PR.

On Day 3, Ogilvy won the Bronze Lion under Creative Data for Mondelez’s #NotJustACadburyAd. Dentsu Webchutney won a Silver Lion again for The 8-Bit Journo under the categories of Entertainment and Digital Craft.

On Day 4, Cheil won a Silver Lion for its Samsung Good Vibes campaign – Now, Words Aren’t Just Heard- under Brand Experience & Activation. FCB won a Bronze for its “The Punishing Signal” campaign under the criteria of Mobile and Dentsu Webchutney won Bronze both under Mobile and Creative E-Commerce criterias for Swiggy’s The Better Half Recipes and Vice’s The 8 Bit Journo respectively.

On the final day, FCB Ulka sealed the festival by winning a Bronze under Sustainable Development Goals for Times of India’s Out and Proud.
