All of India’s social media platforms are buzzing with just one question: “Who is Orry?”
You may have seen him, you may have heard of him, but do you know him?
Orhan Awatramani, aka Orry, is everywhere. During the last couple of years, he’s been spotted partying with Bollywood star kids, hanging out with the Ambani clan and posing with the rest of Mumbai’s high-flying elite. But now, India’s social media channels are all finally asking the most important question: Who is he?
Here’s everything you need to know about the latest star kid BFF:
WHO IS HE?
As it turns out, Orry is based in South Mumbai. According to his LinkedIn profile, he works as a special project manager at the Reliance Industries Limited Chairpersons Office.
Apart from being an omnipresent socialite, Orry defines himself as “a singer, a songwriter, a fashion designer, a creative director, a stylist, an executive assistant, a shopper, and sometimes a football player“.
While a quick look at Google and his LinkedIn profile showed us that he was a social activist, Orry corrected the assumption. He said: “I was really bored one day and I put “activist” on my Instagram bio for like four days, just for fun. I’ve done a few things here and there though—few seed plantings, beach clean-up—but not enough to define me as a social activist.”
He evidently comes from a wealthy family and pursued a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and communication Design from Parsons School of Design in New York.

ORRY’S CONNECTIONS:
Orry first gained the spotlight because of rumors of him dating Bollywood star kid and actress Janhvi Kapoor. The two of them dropped comments on each other’s Instagram posts and appeared together at events, leaving fans convinced that they were in a relationship.
In an interview with News 18, Janhvi Kapoor spoke about her relationship with Orry, saying, “I have known Orry for years now and he is someone who I not only have so much fun with, but he’s had my back for a long time, and I have had his back.” She added: “It feels like home when he is around, and I trust him a lot. I think it’s rare to find friends who will stand up for you the way he stands up for his friends. He is a great guy.”
There were also speculations of him dating Nysa Devgan after fans began noticing the two of them hanging out together.
Evidently, Orry’s connections extend far and wide. He’s also been spotted hanging out with Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan, Alaya F, Ibrahim Ali Khan and many more.

If you thought that Orry’s connections were limited to India, think again. He’s also connected to international celebrities in Hollywood. He’s been photographed with Kylie Jenner, and has connections with Anne Hathaway and even the Kardashians.

Earlier this year, in an interview with Cosmopolitan India, Orry finally answered the million-dollar question about his friendship with Bollywood’s star kids. He said, “I wouldn’t really say I’m friends with anyone in the ‘film industry’—the people I’m friends with are actually my peers. We’re the same age; we all went to school and college at similar times. There are only a few people who I consider industry friends.”
ORRY’S FAME:
As it turns out, neither India’s social media nor Orry himself can pinpoint the exact moment he rose to fame. As he commented: “There were countless moments. You know, a lot of people think “He’s suddenly shot up,” but no, I haven’t. This New Year’s though, I made my first reel and I went up like 20k followers. Isn’t that really weird?”
However, he’s well aware of the popularity of his peers: “I’ve always had the least number of followers compared to all my Instagram-y friends. Obviously, you can’t compare your following to that of an actor or a cricketer in India, that’s absurd. Maybe I’m catching up just a little bit. But I learned at a young age that the point is not how many followers you have, but how cool your profile looks. I want context. I want the narrative because without the story, what’s the point of the picture? Your Instagram should give a small insight into your camera roll, and into your life.”
When asked about his rising fame, he said: “I love paps! Who doesn’t? Fame and attention hurt no one. Being papped is also a sign of relevance like you have gotten enough to be photographed. Wouldn’t it trouble anyone if they made it into the limelight and then lost everything?”
Currently, Orry has over 363k followers on Instagram.
