In a heartwarming gesture, Instagram influencer Anish Bhagat surprised his elderly grandmother by reuniting her with childhood friends after more than 50 years.
The emotional reunion, shared by Bhagat on social media, has gone viral and brought tears to many who watched it.
Chronicling his entire journey, the video began with an explanation for Bhagat’s motivation. His ailing grandmother, who was hospitalized because of lung issues, was feeling down, so Bhagat decided to create a wishlist to raise her spirits. One wish stood out above others: she longed to reconnect with the childhood friends she hadn’t seen since her school and college days.
Determined to fulfill this wish, Bhagat began the long and persistent search to find his grandmother’s friends. After tracking them down, he organized a reunion at one of their homes in Bengaluru. The women spent their day reminiscing about their shared childhood, rekindling the heartfelt bond they had formed in their youth.
“Who else is crying with me? This also makes me so grateful for my friends. I’m so glad be surrounded with the same kind of love. I’m so happy I could do this for my jaan. This turned out to be super emotional,” wrote Anish on Instagram.

The video has since received over 11.6 million views on Instagram alone till date along with a host of comments and heartfelt reactions, with social media users touched by the emotional reunion.
“My day has just started and I’m crying already,” a user wrote.
