Agency Interviews Interviews

#AgencyDissect : Dissecting Youngun

Who are we?

Youngun is a forward-thinking creative marketing agency specialising in social media. We pride ourselves on executing ideas that are interesting enough to compound organically through users.

What does the agency do?

We specialise in tailoring campaigns that become a conversation point for the internet. Essentially, we offer a comprehensive suite of services that cater to all aspects of social media marketing and content creation.

What is the size and the strength of the company?

Our agency is a tight-knit team of 50 professionals based in Gurugram, India. We bring together creative minds, media-buying experts, and operational wizards, all working collaboratively to deliver impactful results for our clients.

What are the various services that your agency caters to?

We offer a wide range of services, including campaign ideation, user-led marketing, social media retainers, social media amplification, meme marketing, and culture marketing retainers. We are also skilled in scripting and producing video content, managing social media topicality retainers with trending influencers, developing owned content, and creating viral campaign ideas.

Some notable clients and projects you’ve worked on?

We have had the privilege of collaborating with various high-profile clients, including Swiggy Instamart, Netflix, Tinder, Spotify, CRED, PepsiCo and Britannia Some of our standout campaigns include the Ganji Chudail collaboration with Netflix, AJIO’s #TheBiggestDelivery and MiniTV’s ‘Jamnapaar’ announcement series in the Delhi Metro.

What makes your agency stand out from the rest?

What sets Youngun apart is our unique approach to social media strategy. Unlike brand campaigns that heavily rely on paid reach through influencers or ads, we focus on the strength of the idea itself. Our goal is to create content that can grow organically after an initial push, making it inherently more valuable and engaging. We prioritize expanding the audience base through targeted influencer collaborations, ensuring our campaigns are not limited by just influencers and their followers but are amplified by the power of great content and strategic distribution.

What has been the biggest hurdle in your agency?

Our biggest challenge has been balancing our creative-first approach with the need for streamlined operations and client servicing, especially in a work-from-home (WFH) environment. Adapting to this new model while maintaining our high standards of creativity and client satisfaction has required innovative thinking and flexibility from our entire team. To address this, we are implementing a hybrid model for our operations team.

What are some of the key future goals or projects that the agency is working towards?

Looking ahead, we aim to refine our focus on virality over a broader reach, developing campaigns that truly capture the essence of user engagement. We are also working on more effectively measuring KPIs and KRAs for influencer campaigns, establishing new metrics such as the “virality factor” to assess campaign success. Additionally, we plan to continue delivering 360-degree campaigns that balance a user-first perspective with brand-first ideas, ensuring our content retains its unique flavour without compromise.

How has the company culture affected overall performance?

Our company culture is one of our greatest strengths. We encourage an environment that is experimental, supportive, and fearless, encouraging out-of-the-box thinking and taking calculated risks. Constructive feedback and a focus on fundamental concepts allow us to learn from our mistakes and continuously improve. Public recognition and appreciation for our team’s efforts also contribute to a motivated and cohesive workplace. We believe in a hybrid work model that offers flexibility while maintaining team collaboration – thereby supporting long-term growth and creativity.

What roles is the agency hiring for and how to reach out?
