The Pittch Executes 4th Edition of Festival of Manufacturing – Udyog Utsav in Chennai

Chennai: The 4th edition of the Festival of Manufacturing, also known as Udyog Utsav, was successfully held at Feathers HotelChennai, bringing together leading voices from India’s manufacturing ecosystem to celebrate innovation, talent, and the relentless dedication driving the sector forward.

Centered around the theme“Viksit Bharat 2047: Building the Future Through Manufacturing” the event highlighted the critical role the manufacturing sector plays in shaping India’s economic growth and long-term development vision. The festival served as a dynamic platform for industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, share insights, and recognize excellence within the manufacturing sector.

Over the past year, the initiative has gone beyond traditional industry discussions by engaging directly with manufacturing facilities across the country. The companies including Ashok Leyland, Volvo Group, Ducati India, BMW, and Continental opened their doors to showcase their innovations and operational excellence, reinforcing that manufacturing is not just about production but about people, passion, and purpose.

The summit featured prominent industry leaders including TK Ramesh, Managing Director, Ace Designers Limited; Kamal Bali, President & Managing Director, Volvo Group India; Dr. Kanakasabapathi Subramanian, Senior Vice President, Ashok Leyland; Ajesh Saklecha, Director, Ozone Motors; and Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India Pvt Ltd, among others.

The event hosted four panel discussions on key topics shaping the future of manufacturing, alongside a special case study presentation by Pawan AgrawalPresident of KECT and Co-ChairmanIndian Academy of Entrepreneurship, who shared insights from his extensive study of the globally renowned Mumbai Dabbawala system and its lessons in operational efficiency.

The day began with a vibrant welcome by traditional Chennamalam drummers, followed by a Bharatanatyam performance by renowned artist Bhavna Neelakantan, adding a cultural dimension to the gathering.

major highlight of the event was the ‘Champions of Manufacturing’ awards, recognizing leaders and organizations for their significant contributions to the sector, along with the ‘Promising Plants of the Future’ segment honoring emerging manufacturing facilities demonstrating innovation, leadership and excellence.
