‘Stay Better, Pay Lesser’

MakeMyTrip has launched a brand-new campaign starring superstars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt aimed at attracting new users to its platform.

The campaign is aimed at spotlighting the unique value propositions that set the platform apart by confronting the usual challenges that travelers encounter when booking hotels inline, such as overpriced hotel bookings. MakeMyTrip’s new campaign spots offer them a colorful solution to all their problems.

Fresh off their success from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the duo’s on-screen MakeMyTrip characters are ready to go skydiving for their honeymoon, but turn into money-misers right before the jump. While Ranveer was supposed to go skydiving with the instructor, Alia wanted to share the experience and suggested that she could sit in her husband’s lap.

The couple then began to argue with the instructor until, dumbstruck and exasperated, he jumped off the helicopter without them.

The ad’s evident humour is based on the premise that Ranveer and Alia spent all their money on the hotel and therefore didn’t have much to spare for other activities. Thus, they began to bargain. This ad highlights MakeMyTrip’s 20% discount offer for one’s first hotel booking.

In yet another campaign spot, titled “Stay Better, Pay Lesser”, MakeMyTrip used the trope of a boy who is oblivious to a girl’s romantic advances to highlight and praise all the facilities and information available in a room booked by MakeMyTrip, including the charm of sea-facing rooms. It also underscores the 20% discount offer and presents an attractive offer for first-time users, perfectly aligning with the timing of those who are planning their end-of-the-year travels.
