April 1, National: At goSTOPS, we know that travel is all about experiences – and sometimes, it’s about having fun with those experiences too! That’s why, this April Fools’ Day, goSTOPS launched an out-of-the-box, humorous campaign that left the audience buzzing: “Reverse Hostel” – Pay to Stay, Get Paid to Leave!
The premise was simple, and too good to be true – for just ₹500, you could check into any goSTOPS property. Then, after checkout, you’d receive ₹700 – making travelling in budget even better! And the best part? Stay longer, earn more. The more you travel, the more you’d get paid! Who wouldn’t want FREE stays forever?
While the campaign was, of course, an April Fools’ joke, it hit the nail on the head by appealing to India’s Gen Z travellers. “Reverse Hostel” had everyone laughing. The hilarious idea of paying to stay and getting paid to leave struck a chord with young adventurers who are always on the lookout for new, fun ways to enjoy their travels.
But there’s more to this joke than meets the eye.
The Reverse Hostel campaign was designed with a deeper message in mind. The playful twist on the hostel experience reflects goSTOPS’ long-standing belief that travel is transformative. At goSTOPS, we’re all about motivating India’s youth to travel more, explore deeper, and experience the world around them. We’ve always known that staying in a hostel is more than just a place to sleep – it’s an opportunity to discover, meet new people, and, most importantly, grow.
“We wanted to do something bold and fun, while still reinforcing the idea that travel opens new doors and opportunities,” says Simran, Social Media & Content Lead at goSTOPS. “The ‘Reverse Hostel’ campaign was a way to bring laughter and joy to our audience, while also encouraging young people to keep traveling and embracing the transformative power of travel. Even if it was just for the laughs, we hope this campaign reminded them of the endless possibilities out there!”
So, while you may not be getting paid to check out, goSTOPS will always be there to provide you with unforgettable travel experiences. After all, travel is priceless – but we’re still going to make it as accessible as possible!
