Bollywood Meets Spirituality: New Anti-Drunk Driving Campaign Promotes Safe Celebrations

In a bid to ensure safe and joyous celebrations this New Year’s Eve, two powerful platforms—Approach Bollywood, India’s leading entertainment news provider, and Go Spiritual, a renowned spiritual organization—have joined forces to launch an impactful anti-drunk driving campaign.

Titled “Aaj Mere Paas Gadi Hai,” the campaign combines Bollywood’s iconic dialogues with a life-saving message, urging individuals to drive responsibly during the festive season.

The heart of the campaign lies in its creative use of beloved Bollywood lines, reimagined to deliver a compelling call to action. The famous “Aaj mere paas gaadi hai, bangla hai, bank balance hai” from Deewar is given a clever twist: “Even then, I don’t drink and drive.” This play on words is aimed at driving home the point that no material possession is worth jeopardizing lives on the road. Another adaptation comes from Kanoon, where the line “Kanoon ke haath bahut lambe hote hain” serves as a strong reminder of the legal consequences of drunk driving, while Sholay’s Veeru’s advice to Basanti, “Don’t dance in front of these dogs,” is repurposed to mean, “Don’t drink, drive, or create a scene.”

Sonu Tyagi, the founder of both Approach Bollywood and Go Spiritual, emphasized the urgency of the campaign, stating, “While New Year’s Eve is a time to celebrate, it also unfortunately becomes one of the most dangerous nights on the roads due to intoxicated driving. Our goal is to raise awareness and encourage responsible choices, saving lives in the process. Bollywood’s universal appeal makes it the perfect vehicle for spreading this vital message.”

Approach Bollywood, a platform recognized for its extensive coverage of the entertainment industry, has long used its influence for social causes. The organization recently launched a news app offering breaking updates on Bollywood, OTT platforms, and music industries, further cementing its role as a catalyst for positive change. In 2025, Approach Bollywood will also produce its first Hindi film under Sonu Tyagi’s direction.

Go Spiritual, the campaign’s partner, has been a force for good in promoting wellness, mindfulness, and social transformation. Their initiatives, such as spiritual tourism and various social awareness programs, align seamlessly with the campaign’s mission to create a safer and more harmonious society.

The collaboration between these two platforms, Approach Bollywood and Go Spiritual, highlights the power of entertainment and spirituality working together for social good. Through the “Aaj Mere Paas Gadi Hai” campaign, the message is clear: New Year’s celebrations should be full of joy, not marred by preventable accidents. The campaign blends Bollywood’s charm with a powerful public service announcement, encouraging people to make responsible decisions as they ring in the new year.

This year, as we approach the festivities, let’s remember that the real celebration lies in safe, joyous gatherings where everyone makes it home safely.
